Seeing as unlocking these desired overclocks is very likely to take several months (at minimum) unless the player gets really lucky (due to the time gate in the way of unlocking overclock cores), this naturally induces demand within players for some way to avoid this mind-numbing grind where the end is never in sight - making save editing a particularly attractive prospect.
As it stands, a player is only able to earn up to 6 weapon overclocks per week (due to the time gating on earning blank matrix cores/infused weapon overclock cores), which prevents players from being able to use certain overclocks which they may particularly want to use (which is especially problematic when a player is seeking a particular meta overclock for their build, or they want one of the overclocks which open up new sources of fun (such as Special Powder, RJ250, Hyper Propellant, etc)). Maybe a better long-term approach would be to address some of the underlying issues with DRG's progression which incentivize the use of save editors in the first place?įor example, unlocking weapon overclocks.
